NPP Blames Low Voter Turnout on Spirits, Unveils 'Operation Holy Ghost Fire'

The New Patriotic Party (NPP), still reeling from their crushing defeat in the 2024 elections, has finally identified the true culprit behind their downfall—not broken promises, not economic struggles, but invisible spirits lurking in their strongholds. According to the party’s General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, it was a full-blown spiritual attack, and to fight back, the party is launching "Operation Holy Ghost Fire", a no-nonsense spiritual offensive designed to roast any lurking demonic forces before 2028.

Speaking in a solemn tone that suggested he had just returned from a 40-day mountain retreat, Mr. Kodua lamented the mysterious drop in voter turnout, claiming that unseen hands had orchestrated a spiritual boycott. "This election was not decided by flesh and blood," he declared, urging the party’s pastors and prayer warriors to return to their intercessory duties immediately. As part of the operation, the party plans to dispatch prayer teams across the 16 regions to "reclaim lost votes from the spiritual realm" before the 2028 elections, with fasting sessions targeted at "wayward constituencies". Rumors suggest some constituencies will undergo full exorcisms, with anointing oil distribution doubling as campaign giveaways.

While the party insists on battling invisible forces, political observers are still struggling to keep a straight face at what many are terming "embarrassing remarks from a major party", arguing that Ghanaians were likely more influenced by "real-life demons"—inflation, unemployment, and a failing economy—rather than supernatural ones. But the NPP remains undeterred, vowing to bring back the glory days through spiritual intervention.
